Welcome to Sweet Cream Kitchen! Phew, this has been a long time coming!! I can’t wait to share my love of cooking with all of you. I find so much joy in cooking. In fact, my greatest joy in life is making people delicious food. Lets take a trip down memory lane. WAAAAY back to 2007. My husband was in law school and we were VERY poor. We had just had our first child and was a stay at home mom. I went from a college graduate with a full-time job, to caring for a baby full-time. I traded routines, a social life and showers for diapers, spit-up and nonstop laundry. To say I was in a rut was an understatement. I am such a busy body, that it was hard for me to find a purpose and identity that I *thought* mattered. Of course I was raising the cutest little baby in town, but lots of times that didn’t seem very fulfilling. I needed a hobby. BIGTIME.
I tried to figure out what I could do to feel more like I mattered. I LOVE people, I LOVE parties and I LOVE socializing. This is when family dinners started. Once a week I would make a big meal for anyone who wanted to come over. We would eat and laugh and watch The Office and laugh some more. It is, most definitely, one of my favorite memories. During that time I discovered my love for cooking. I loved making peoples day brighter with food. I would spend the week searching for recipes and preparing for the next dinner party. Soon after these dinners started, I noticed my recipe book busting at the seams and looked into starting my own food blog. I wanted recipes that I had tried and loved at my fingertips, even when I wasn’t at home. That’s when mirandasrecipes.blogspot.com started. Some of you may know my first blog and still get recipes from it…I know I do haha. And don’t worry! That website will remain up and running until I transfer all of my tried and true recipes to this website. This website is just going to be SO MUCH BETTER!
I still LOVE having parties and making food for people. It brings me such immense joy…and just fills my bucket! From dessert bars to waffle brunches to dinner parties to friends sitting around in pjs, I love any excuse to make food that others can enjoy. I’m so excited to dive back into cooking and share my recipes with you. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
